About the Course
Our Speech & Debate course helps upper elementary students build confidence in speaking, listening, and sharing ideas. Students will learn how to organize their thoughts, write short speeches, use persuasive language, and present clearly in front of others.
Throughout the course, students will practice speaking individually and in small groups while learning how to respectfully share opinions, support their ideas with reasons, and listen to different viewpoints. This course is designed to help students become more confident communicators in a fun, supportive, and structured environment.
Course Expectations
Students will participate in speeches, discussions, debate-style activities, writing assignments, group practice, and presentations designed to build confidence, improve communication, and strengthen critical thinking throughout the year.
