Behavior Policy
Astrolabe Institute is a small, focused learning community. A calm, respectful classroom is a big part of what makes our hands-on classes work, and this policy explains the standards every student agrees to when they enroll.

What we expect from students
Every student at Astrolabe Institute is expected to:
- Treat instructors, classmates, guests, and facilities with respect at all times.
- Follow instructor directions and classroom guidelines.
- Listen and participate attentively during instruction, without disrupting the class.
- Take part honestly and safely in every lesson, lab, and activity.
- Help maintain a positive, focused environment where everyone can learn.
Disruptive or repeated misconduct
Most concerns are minor and are resolved quickly through a conversation with the student and a note home to parents. However, conduct that disrupts learning, repeatedly ignores instructor direction, endangers others, or damages property or partner facilities is taken seriously.
In cases of serious or repeated misconduct, Astrolabe Institute reserves the right to take disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal from the program. Where a student is dismissed for behavioral reasons, tuition is non-refundable, in keeping with our refund policy.
Why this matters
Our classes are hands-on and often take place in shared labs and partner spaces. Clear, consistent expectations keep every student safe and let our instructors spend their energy teaching rather than managing disruption.
